Imagine not knowing where your next meal or drink of clean water will come from.

Now, picture facing this uncertainty while enduring a brutal winter, wearing thin clothes that offer little warmth, and living in a fragile tent that barely shields you from the biting cold.

That’s exactly what these refugee children and many more could face if we don’t help them now.

A plea for warmth and sustenance

Millions of displaced refugees at the borders of Türkiye and surrounding regions are forced to carefully prepare for the harsh winter this year despite facing extreme poverty and dwindling aid.

Those who have nowhere else to turn but the overcrowded refugee camps with makeshift tents are the ones who will suffer the most. These vulnerable individuals are left to endure the bitter cold without proper homes, increasing their risk of illness and hardship.

To survive these challenging winters, these refugees desperately need food, warm clothes, blankets, wood, and clean drinking water.

Without it, they are at risk of:

🟢 Malnutrition: The lack of food leads to severe health issues, especially for children and the elderly, making them vulnerable to diseases.

🟢 Hypothermia: Exposure to freezing temperatures without adequate clothing or shelter can result in life-threatening conditions, particularly among the young and elderly.

🟢 Dehydration: Access to clean drinking water is crucial. Without it, refugees face severe health risks, including kidney problems and weakened immune systems.

🟢 Mental Health Decline: The stress of living in harsh conditions, coupled with the trauma of displacement, can lead to increased anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.

🟢 Increased Vulnerability: Without basic necessities, refugees may fall prey to exploitation, trafficking, or violence, as desperation drives them into unsafe situations.

🟢 Loss of Hope: The ongoing struggle for survival can erode hope and resilience, leading to a sense of despair that impacts their overall well-being.

A plea for warmth and sustenance to survive the winter

Today, you can help these innocent refugees survive when you support the Winter Aid and Support Program by Emergency Response.

Emergency Response is now on the ground at some of the most destitute refugee camps by the borders of Türkiye, where the need is critical. Your support will directly impact their lives this winter:

🟢 Providing Food Baskets: Each food basket sustains physical health and brings a sense of normalcy and comfort to families who have endured so much loss.

🟢 Distributing Blankets: Each blanket helps to provide warmth and security, offering a small refuge against harsh winter nights, especially for children and the elderly, who are most vulnerable.

🟢 Delivering Firewood: Access to firewood allows families to heat their shelters and cook warm meals. This resource is vital for both comfort and health during these difficult months.

🟢 Supplying Clean Drinking Water: Access to safe drinking water reduces the risk of waterborne diseases that can spread quickly in crowded conditions. It also alleviates the burden of collecting water.

Your generous donation will also relieve the hardships of your own future on the Day of Resurrection, as promised for those who help relieve the hardships of the needy and vulnerable.

“If anyone relieves a Muslim believer from one of the hardships of this worldly life, Allah will relieve him of one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection.”
[Sahih Muslim]

Donate today, and let’s help our brothers and sisters survive the winter with comfort and dignity.

About Emergency Response Association

The Emergency Response Society was established in 2019 through a youth team with various experiences in the northwestern region of Bilād al-Shām. Its idea began with campaigns to evacuate civilians so they can be safe from bombing.

Witnessing the increase in suffering, forced displacement, and the growing number of camp residents, their ambition to serve their people grew. This necessitated an expansion to include a much larger team that can spearhead various projects.

Today, Emergency Response has more than 100 employees spanning across Shaam and Türkiye, each bringing a wealth of different experiences to the team. The food supplies distribution project is one of their projects that relieves their pain.

The association works mainly in the northern region of Bilād al-Shām, specifically the city of Idlib and its countryside, the countryside of Latakia, and the northern countryside of Aleppo, in addition to the Turkish state of Gaziantep. It works temporarily in the regions of neighboring countries during crises, such as Jordan, Palestine, and Lebanon.
